A couple of years ago, I bought two charm packs and some yardage of Fig Tree & Co.‘s beautiful Strawberry Fields fabric. I finally turned it into a quilt for our neighbors who will be moving back to Japan in a few weeks.
I made the Charm Pack Cherry Quilt Pattern from the Fat Quarter Shop, and added borders to make it a larger throw size.
I really love how fast the quilt came together, but also how the fabric is just so beautiful and highlighted in the pattern:
I didn’t have enough yardage to fill in the back, so I used a green scrap piece I had. It’s definitely a lot darker, but I think it still blends in enough to fit!
I quilted this in a large, meandering squiggle and it took me a couple of hours to do:
Confession: I almost didn’t want to give this quilt away! I wanted to keep it for myself. But, I had to since I had already labeled the back of the quilt!
I had my daughter paint a picture and we rolled it up to deliver to our neighbors.
They loved it and now have it hanging on their second floor balcony overlooking their family room.
