Last week I finished my almost dream quilt. I have to say it’s not quite my dream quilt because that means I’m finished making more dream quilts, and that’s not going to happen any time soon! Let’s just say that right now it is my favorite quilt!
It’s the Fresh Quilt from Simply Retro with Camille Roskelley: Fresh Quilts from Classic Blocks. The fabric is Kate Spain’s Daydream collection and the background is Moda’s Bleached White. It’s now happily found a home on our bed.
The colors of this line are so beautiful and vibrant. In person it’s even better!
I quilted a large meandering pattern and yes, I made this 96″ x 96″ on my little Brother CS6000i sewing machine! It wasn’t too bad, since it was square, I could tackle the quilt in four sections, one section at a time.
My husband thought it was definitely a “Vera-quilt and I think that’s a compliment since he hasn’t complained about the bright colors in our bedroom. But, he is usually easygoing about my decor choices, so I guess it all worked out!
Here’s the finished back, with leftover fabric, and with my hand-embroidered label. I had to finish this project since I put 2014 on it, you know!
